Where temperature and humidity monitoring matters together

Many products fail on moisture before they fail on heat. A tablet labelled "store below 25°C, protect from moisture" is out of specification in a monsoon warehouse at 24°C and 85% RH, and a paper-based record will rarely show it. Monitoring both values from the same point, on the same timeline, is what lets a QA team prove storage conditions rather than assume them.

  • Pharmaceutical stores and dispensing areas with labelled temperature and humidity limits
  • Stability chambers and walk-in rooms running fixed temperature and RH set points
  • Warehouses and godowns where seasonal humidity damages cartons, labels and powders
  • Cleanrooms, packing halls and electronics assembly where RH affects static and yield
  • Greenhouses, seed stores and ripening rooms
  • Server rooms, where low RH raises static risk and high RH brings condensation

Built-in or external sensor: choosing a humidity and temperature monitoring system

The model number tells you where the sensor sits. The "50" models (WTH50, MTH50) have a built-in sensor for ambient rooms between 0°C and +50°C: mount the unit on the wall and it measures the air around it. The "70" models use an external probe from about -20°C to +70°C, and the "120" models (WTH120, MTH120, ETH120) use an external probe from -40°C to +120°C, so the logger and its display stay outside a cold room or chamber while the probe sits inside.

Where a room needs more than temperature and RH, for example CO2 or differential pressure, the Wi-Fi WC-X and 4G MC-X customised room-parameter systems log and alert on sensors chosen for that site.

Wireless temperature and humidity monitoring: alerts and reports

Pick the link that suits the building. Wi-Fi models join the site network; 4G models carry a built-in M2M SIM and need no IT approval or router; Ethernet models suit plants that prefer wired devices; the offline OTH70 records locally where there is no network at all. Connected loggers raise app and email alerts, with SMS as an option, when a reading crosses its limit, and reports can be exported as PDF, CSV or Excel with the audit trail an inspector expects under 21 CFR Part 11.

Room temperature and humidity monitoring system: how many points per room

As a starting guide, a small store room with one rack line can often be covered by one logger at the product position, with a second near the door if it is opened frequently. Larger warehouses, rooms with high racking and anything regulated should be mapped first: a mapping study shows the hot, cold and humid spots across heights and seasons, and the continuous monitoring points are then placed at the worst-case positions. Our team can help size the number of points from a floor plan.

Buying a temperature and humidity monitoring system in India

Ideabytes loggers are designed and manufactured in India, supported by India-based engineers and available through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). Temperature and humidity loggers carry HSN code 90258090. NABL-traceable calibration certificates are available on request, and our Expert Check service reviews your rooms before you order.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate temperature logger and humidity logger?

No. A temperature and humidity data logger measures both from the same point and records them on one timeline, which is what an auditor wants to see. Separate devices only make sense when the humidity point and the temperature point are physically different, for example a probe inside a chiller and an RH sensor in the room outside it.

Which is better for a room: a built-in sensor or an external probe?

For ambient rooms between 0°C and 50°C, a built-in sensor model such as the WTH50 is simpler to install and reads the air around it. Choose an external-probe model (70 or 120 range) when the logger must stay outside the monitored space, such as a cold room, chamber or refrigerator, or when conditions go below 0°C.

Can the system alert me when humidity goes out of range?

Yes. Connected Wi-Fi, 4G and Ethernet models have separate high and low limits for temperature and relative humidity. When either limit is crossed, the platform sends app and email alerts, and optional SMS, to the people you nominate, and the excursion, the acknowledgement and any comments are kept in the audit trail for the report.

What does a temperature and humidity monitoring system cost?

It depends on the number of monitoring points, the connectivity (Wi-Fi, 4G or Ethernet), the sensor type and whether you need mapping or calibration certificates. Share your room sizes and limits through the contact form and we will send a quote sized to the site rather than a list price.
